    Description
  • Dr. Weyrauch Crystal Mash - 5kg

Dr. Weyrauch KristallMash is carefully mixed in a very traditional mill in Saarland. Linseed, wheat bran and oats are of particularly good quality. The wheat bran is always fresh as part of the daily milling process to produce flour for human consumption. This is very important as the wheat bran contains sensitive nutrients such as fats and proteins in the germ. We are particularly proud of this product.

The traditional preparation based on linseed and wheat bran has been refined in Kristall Mash with oat flocks for a good taste and a proven herbal recipe, as well as lightly mineralized with rock salt. This mash is guaranteed to be free from flavorings, preservatives, sweeteners or added essential oils and is therefore very suitable for digestively labile, stomach-sensitive, immunocompromised or liver-sensitive horses.

The starch content is approx. 17%. Kristall Mash is sugar-free. The herbs and spices in Kristall Mash have been selected in the well-known Dr. Weyrauch quality and for their stomach-friendly and digestive effects.

Due to the extremely high proportion of linseed in this active feed, 300g per large horse per day is sufficient to improve digestion and as a dietary feed for gastric mucosal problems.

Today, mash is considered the first meal after colic, operations or a strenuous day at a show. Mash can also be given daily in the event of changes in the weather, a tendency to stomach ulcers and to generally improve the digestive situation. Feeding mash is particularly important when horses suffer from stomach problems. The traditional mash preparation is naturally rich in mucilage and water-soluble fiber.

Linseed is an oleaginous fruit with an extremely high content of omega-3 fatty acids. In the case of mash feed, however, the mucilage-forming factors and thus the lining of sensitive stomach and intestinal mucous membranes dominate. The mucilage, which is made up of xylose, galactose and galacturonic acid, has been considered a great aid for digestive problems for thousands of years. The mucilage is digested completely and naturally in the last part of the small intestine in horses. Linseed is also rich in lecithin. Lecithin is a component of the cell membrane of animal and plant organisms and ensures that the mucous membranes can maintain their protective layer.

Wheat bran is a by-product left over from the production of white flour. It mainly contains the valuable seed and fruit husks of the cereal grain, the protein- and mineral-rich aleurone layer and the germ, which is rich in essential fatty acids. Bran is very tasty, gentle on the stomach and provides crude fiber in the form of the polysaccharide pectin, which is made up of pentoses and galacturonic acid and is therefore considered a soluble fiber. The pectins themselves improve the excretion of bile acids and are considered prebiotics. Wheat bran is generally considered to be gentle on the stomach and aid digestion and should not be missing from any mash preparation in an emergency.

High-quality oats not only improve the taste. The partially water-soluble ß-glucans (oat glucan) contained in oats are efficient mucilage formers. They make oats an effective diet for stomach and intestinal disorders and also improve bile flow. A mash made on this basis is gentle on the mucous membranes and thus the digestive tract. It is a natural source of phosphorus and is therefore a sensible addition to a feed ration that is increasingly low in grain and high in raw fiber and therefore high in calcium.
