Add dry or moistened to the feed or sprinkle over the hay. Horses receive 30 - 50 g daily (about a handful). Ponies should be given about half the amount, depending on their size.
OKAPI Darmwohlkräuter should never be given for longer than six to eight weeks at a time. A break of four to six weeks is then recommended or a change to another herbal mixture, e.g. OKAPI Bitter Herbs together with OKAPI Licorice Extract. This also accommodates the horse's natural feeding behavior. Alternating OKAPI intestinal herbs, OKAPI bitter herbs and OKAPI herbal pasture every two weeks throughout the winter has proved successful.
