The acid-base balance of many horses is disturbed due to incorrect feeding. High-protein, cereal-rich diets and an oversupply of concentrated feed lead to acidosis in the body. The resulting metabolic disorders cause malfunctions of the organs, skin, hooves and inadequate microcirculation. The body cells are no longer adequately supplied with nutrients and gas exchange is impaired. A change in diet alone cannot eliminate the problem.
The body needs sodium bicarbonate, potassium, magnesium and zinc to dissolve the acid deposits in the connective tissue and ensure the deacidification of the cells. Dezidum base powder supplies these substances.

Give adult horses 1 heaped MB (= 25 g) daily, for example over the moistened hay or with the manger feed, ponies and small horses get ½ MB. Due to the increased content of minerals and trace elements compared to complete feeds, PerNaturam alkaline powder may only be given up to 1 % of the daily ration.
