Hoof oil Hoof oil for chronic laminitis.
Hoof oilfor chronic laminitis. In a laminitis hoof, the connection between the coffin bone and the horn wall loosens, which can lead to a lowering of the coffin bone and/or rotation of the coffin bone. In addition, laminitis often results in hollow walls - the sole then usually becomes soft or friable. Furthermore, the risk of hoof abscesses increases and the sole becomes hypersensitive. The deer hoof oil strengthens the newly forming hoof after the deer thrust. It must not be used during an acute episode.
The deer hoof oil stimulates the formation of new hoof material and strengthens the newly formed horn material. This strengthens the connection between the coffin bone and horn material. The essential oils it contains also protect the hoof and can counteract the effects of laminitis on the hoof.
Please note that deer hoof oil is used for the rapid regeneration of the hoof after a deer thrust. However, it cannot prevent a new bout of laminitis - for example due to Equine Cushing's Syndrome or other influencing factors.
Application: The deer oil should be applied to the entire hoof at least once a day. You can also apply hot compresses for at least two weeks. If the sole is very soft or friable or the horse's coffin bone is so severely depressed that there is a risk of the coffin bone breaking through, the sole hardener can also be used as a supportive measure. If the hoof problems of the deer hoof are too complex, e.g. due to hollow walls or hoof abscesses, our special oil (see below or link) should be used instead of the deer hoof oil.
